SELF EVALUATION

Since I started first of ESO I've done at least one oral presentation each year, but I still getting nervous in front of the class. The one I've done this second term I think that it has been the worst presentation I've ever done during all those years.
I don't know why, I got blocked, and all the specific vocabulary I had to use, I forgot it and I used poor words with and awful vocabulary.
To improve my orals I just have to breath heavily before starting te presentation to calm my nerves. Another thing that I can do is practice with my family before doing it in front of the class.
I will take all my selfs evaluations from all those years and I will put in on practice next year at the University.

PS: I can't post the video because of his weight!

SELF EVALUATION

Friday the 9th Homa, Fato and I did the Oral presentation, Our topyc was HOW WOMEN CHANGE TEIR APPEARENCE!!
To do our oral presentation, we spend so many time serching information on the net, and I think we did a good reserch.
When we showed to the class the presentation, I think that we could do it better. For the next presentation I have to improve my pronunciation and I don't have to read from the paper. It's hard to explain what you want to tell if you don't have an amazin vocabulary. I think that for the next oral presentation I'll have to search specific vocabulary.
However I think that we did a good job!!!!

DISEASES

I tink that we could have done a better presentation because elisabet didn't study much and I don't know why I get so nervous while I was doing the presentation but I'm happy with what I've done this day. As we knew that our oral in class wasn't good at all, we repeat it at home and I think that the second one is better that the first! We could have studied more and next time it won't happen. All in all, I'm happy with my results in my orals because I have improved my fluency and I have learned a lot of vocabulary.

ORAL PRESENTATION AND SELF EVALUATION

INTRODUCTION:

Canada is a country in the northern part of North America, bordered by the United States of America to both the south & to the west (Alaska). By area, Canada is the second largest country in the world in land area, after Russia. It has the longest border with water (coastline) of any country in the world. It is next to the Pacific, Arctic, and Atlantic Oceans.
Around 34.8 million people live in Canada's ten provinces and three territories, with the majority living in the southern sections of Canada. This is almost the same number as in the US State of California.
Canada has six time zones.
Canada Day on July 1: This is an opportunity to gather in our communities, from coast to coast, and to proudly celebrate all we have in common and to celebrate our achievements, which were born in the audacious vision and shared values of our ancestors, and which are voiced in nearly all of the languages of the world through the contribution of new Canadians.

Canada Day is a time to celebrate the heritage passed down to us through the works of our authors, poets, artists and performers. It is a time to rejoice in the discoveries of our scientific researchers, in the success of our entrepreneurs, and to commemorate our history.
FOOD AND DRINK:

Canadians eat a lot of beef and chicken, less pork then and some lamb. Other speciality meats such as bison (buffalo) is fairly easy to find. Canadians seem reluctant to eat other animals. Horse meat and goat aren't very typical.

Canada specialities:
Maple syrup: Canada is famous for maple syrup and maple syrup products. Canada makes about 80 percent of the world's maple syrup and the majority comes from the region of Quebec.

Poutine: Poutine, although originating in Quebec, is now found across Canada and is considered a typically Canadian dish. It is basically potato chips topped with curd cheese and gravy. Poutine varies across the regions, with some of the Maritime provinces adding meat to the dish, while other provinces use different types of cheeses.

Barbecue: Canadians love to barbecue. You will find barbecues in almost every yard (garden) and on many decks and balconies. Even a small balcony that is only large enough to hold perhaps two chairs will also have a barbecue. Most barbecues are gas and covered so they are easy to light up all year round. It is normal for Canadian families to barbecue in the middle of the winter when it is below zero with snow on the ground.

THINGS TO VISIT:

  • CN Tower
A visit to Toronto is never complete without visiting the world's tallest building, the CN tower. It's at 553m above the ground the views of Toronto and Lake Ontario are unbeatable.
    Toronto, Ontario
  • Rocky Mountains (snow train to Jasper)
The Rocky Mountains are an icon of Canada and an unparalleled sight that is impressive in every way.
    Jasper, Alberta
  • Banff National Park and Lake Louise
In the heart of the Canadian Rockies is Banff National Park, a World Heritage Site designated by the UN.
    Banff, Alberta
  • Stanley Park
A pride of Vancouver and the biggest park in the city. Stanely Park is over 1,000 acres in size. Surrounded by the Seawall, a walking, rollerblading and bicycle route that stretches 8km around the park, through original rainforest and past sandy beaches.
    Vancouver, British Columbia
  • Watch Polar Bears at Churchill
Every year around September the northern Manitoba town of Churchill on the edge of Hudson's Bay welcomes its furry white visitors - Polar Bears. The bears move between the ice and the land during this time and pass by the town making polar bear watching tours possible.
    Churchill, Manitoba
  • Canada's Parliament buildings
Loosely modelled after the British houses of Parliament, the Parliament Hill in Ottawa is the centre of Canada's federal government. Centre Block (the main parliament building) is free to visitors and it is possible to see the Commons and Senate.
    Ottawa, Ontario
  • Niagara falls
The Niagara Falls, located on the Niagara River draining Lake Erie into Lake Ontario, is the collective name for the Horseshoe Falls and the adjacent American Falls along with the comparatively small Bridal Veil Falls, which combined form the highest flow rate of any waterfall in the world and has a vertical drop of more than 165 feet (50m). Horseshoe Falls is the most powerful waterfall (vertical height along with flow rate) in North America.

CONCLUSION

We chose this place because Joana went to Ottawa last summer. We think it's an amazing place with a lot of things to visit. Canada is beautiful and it has a wonderful history.
We hope you enjoyed it. =)
Thank you for listening to our oral presentation.

Have you got any questions??

In my opinion, our oral presentation was quite good. We did an amazing powerpoint with a lot of pictures and without many things written on it. Next time I'll try to not read the paper, i'll try to be more confident with myself. I tink that my pronunciation was quite good so this is the ony thing that i have to improve the less. For the next oral presentation i'll try to explain it with my own words.

CANADA

Hello everybody!!
Today I will talk about my experience in Ottawa (Canada). My oral presentation is not as interesting as Tiziana’s but I think that it’s an amazing experience.
-First I will sumarize in what consist the whole stay in Canada.
-Then I will explain a little bit about the school and the classes.
-After that I will tell you about the activities we did there.
- Then I will explain som things that we did at night.
- After that I will say somthing about the farewell
-And finally I will tell you some interesting things.
I went to canada with a company called KELLS COLEGE. You contract this company and they do everithing for you. They buy your airline ticket, they chose the best school camp and they find for you a residence or a family (you can choose one or the other)
I stayed there with a host family, the harvey’s. They were jamaican. Those are my canadian sister and brother. She is Naomi and he is David. The second week, my family hosted a guy from Quebec. With my host family we did a lot of things, we went to visit an amazing beach in Quebec, we did a barbacue with the neighbours, we went to visit David in a Skate contest, and every Sunday morning we went to the church.
I went to NSL Camps (National school of Languatges) at Elmwood School (Elmwood school is a girl school during the year and in the sumer is an School Camp.
In this camp there were people from around the world (Chinese, Japanese, Colombian, Mexican, French, Quebecois, Russian, Hungarian, some from South Arabia and from Spain). Our schedule was: from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 12:00 pm classes. And in the afternon from 13:30pm to 16:30pm actitvities.
I went to the advanced group, and my teacher was called Holly, but I always called her Molly J The classes were so interesting, we did soome debates, two 15 minutes oral presentation and a 30 minutes oral presentation. We read a book called Saving Private Ryan and the last day we saw the film. We did some pair projects and an exam every week. The last project we did, was to made a Cookbook with the recipies from our countries. And at the end of the week we cooked the easiest one. We cooked fajitas!!
All the people from the camp had to wear a band to identify in wich class they were, and which activitys thei will do in the afternoon. Advanced class had to wear an orange band (like this).
In the afternoon we visited some museums, we played beach volleyball, baseball, american football, basketball, we did a karaoke party, the talent show, the olympics, a mini boat cruise, we visited the parliament and the prime minister house, we went bowling, we did some wather games and a big waterballons fight.
On Saturdays we did a trip. The first Saturday we went to a water park called calipso(it’s the biggest wather park in America), the second we went to Montreal to visit the city and the Biodome (a zoo), the third one, we visited the Aboriginals and the last one we did a barbacue with all the studens from the camp. (This is a pictur of our wonderfull bus. Every Saturday we took this bus to travel around Ontario)
Ottawa’s nightlive. Always we had to arrive before 8pm at home but some days, with the permisiom of our host famili, we arrived late becaus we went to explore Ottawa at night. We went to have dinner at Hard Rock Caffe, another day we saw a light show in the parliament fence, another day we saw some street shows and the last night we went to have dinner in typical restaurant and after that we went on a concert.
The last day, after the classes, we did the graduation. The head teacher(headmaster) gaves us a Certificate saying that we were at NSL Camps studing english for four weeks.
When we had to leave all the people that we met there, everyone start to cry. We met very good friends at NSL. They were so kind and friendly. (This is a picture of NSL Group and another from KELLS and the COLOMBIAN)
And to end my oral presentation I want so say that if you go to Canada you have to eat Timbits from Tim Hortons and drink some iced drink from Second Cup. (This picture is the Second Cup that i had in front of my house) Those are the BEST and the MOST TYPICAL bars in Canada.
Of course I had tell a lot of things but I could tell you much more. I think that it’s an amazing experience that everyone have to live once in his live. Travel somewere alone, it’s a good way to “survive”!!!!!!!!!
Thank you soo much for listening!!
